Our thanks for visiting In the time that I have spent here at Chi Nan, I have come to appreciate the special qualities that are embodied in the schools motto of “Caring, Openness, Creativity, and Progress.” I hope that Chi Nan’s students and faculty also have come to value the quality of caring; that after the trauma of the 921 Earthquake, the students which Chi Nan has produced can see caring for community and society as a very natural attitude. I hope that Chi Nan’s expansive campus will produce students with expansive minds. I hope that in the age of the information economy, creativity is a general value our students have absorbed. And of course, I know that Chi Nan, a young school, still has much room for progress and growth. May its progress continue uninterrupted! Form its birth until now, Chi Nan University has gone through many stages of learning and many tests. It is growing and maturing. like a youth running across on open field, full of vigor and ideals.
